ARTISSIMA 2023 – GIANNONI & SANTONI PRESENTS NEW EGG

On the occasion of Artissima 2023 Giannoni & Santoni presents NEW EGG, the first expression of OFF, a spin-off of the company born with the mission of giving rise to works and art objects outside the box, oriented towards a new relationship with nature.

This first creation, created by Vedovamazzei with the artistic direction of Nicolas Ballario, represents an unexpected collection of domestic hen coops that transcends the boundaries between art, design and architecture.

The project was created in collaboration with a team of architects and designers and with the precious contribution of Paolo Parisi, the most appreciated producer of high-quality eggs in the world.

NEW EGG will be presented from Thursday, November 2nd to Sunday November 5th 2023, within the evocative spaces of Villa Sanquirico in Turin.

“OPERAE” – GIANNI LUCCHESI’S NEW INSTALLATION ARRIVES IN GENOA

From September 21st to November 5th, in Piazza de Ferrari in Genoa, artist Gianni Lucchesi exhibits OPERAE. The installation, standing at 13 meters, is composed of 12 concrete cubes forming a tower, with a life-sized sculpture of a seated man gazing towards the horizon at its summit. The sculpture, designed specifically for Fuorisalone 2023, was created with the relationship between man and “building” in mind. OPERAE is strongly characterized by geometric and mathematical elements. The Fibonacci golden sequence marks the rotation of the cubes supporting the contemplative figure of the man. In fact, the cubes undergo a slight rotation near the sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, whose sum is 12, which is also the height of the tower in meters. The golden markings that scratch the cement surfaces represent an increasing overlap towards the top of a Brunian seal.

The installation, which will be exhibited in Piazza de Ferrari until November 5th, was presented by Studio Rossetti Gallery.

“It all began with the desire to create an important project to present a unique, large work of art in the city, one that has never been seen before, capable of elegantly stimulating reflections on relevant and current issues. Piazza De Ferrari welcomes Gianni Lucchesi’s sculpture as proof that Genoa is one of the capitals of Italian culture,” explains Elisabetta Rossetti, owner of Studio Rossetti Gallery.

The OPERAE project was developed by Lucchesi in collaboration with Carlo Alberto Arzelà, Sandra Bozzarelli, Julia Caracciolo, and the Hangar studio. The artist worked on the construction solutions and aesthetic finishes of the cubes with the company Giannoni & Santoni. Lucchesi hand-shaped the resin sculpture. The human figure was created with the support of Poliart. The lighting was provided by Filotto, while the studio Ingegneria e dintorni designed the statics of the entire sculpture.

The Genoese installation saw the collaboration of the Municipality of Genoa, Chamber of Commerce, Confcommercio Genoa, and was sponsored by PSA Italy, the port company that manages three container terminals in Italy between Venice and Genoa, and partner companies I.M.S. S.p.A., Ticketcrociere, and Dpsonline.

“OPERAE” – GIANNI LUCCHESI’S NEW INSTALLATION FOR FUORISALONE 2023

On the occasion of FuoriSalone 2023, from April 17th to April 26th, within the framework of the exhibition-event INTERNI Design Re-Evolution, the artist Gianni Lucchesi presents OPERAE in the Cortile d’Onore of the University of Milan. The installation, towering at 13 meters in height, is composed of 12 concrete cubes that form a tower, with a life-sized sculpture of a seated man gazing towards the horizon at its summit. This sculpture, specially designed for FuoriSalone 2023, was created with the relationship between man and “building” in mind.

“The title of the INTERNI exhibition intertwines the concepts of revolution and evolution, two parts of the same developmental process. While it is true that as human beings, we have evolved, it is also true that we have constructed a social reality that does not always respect diversity and the environment. There is a need for a revolution of the spirit to improve our future. Art, architecture, and design can play a fundamental role in this mission by creating new visions,” declares Gianni Lucchesi.

GIANNONI E SANTONI – ARTISTIC COLLABORATIONS – PIETRASANTA

September 15, 2023

Technique and Art, craftsmanship precision and irrational inspiration: a duo that transcends centuries and is capable of bringing out the best in each other in a harmonious synergy of intent. The goal of Giannoni & Santoni Artistic Collaborations, as summarized in the words of the two owners, is to “merge creativity, experience, material, and energy to realize extraordinary artistic projects.”

Thanks to the company’s know-how, the installation features the works of Aurelio Amendola created on cement panels expertly illuminated through the innovative project by Pollice Illuminazione. The final result showcases the most famous works of the great photographer as we know them, yet they are different from the originals. It was Marino Marini, a friend and mentor of the artist, who asked him to make his sculptures dance, to bring them to life through the modulation of light. This is the outcome of the fusion of Giannoni & Santoni’s technique, Pollice’s study of light, and Aurelio Amendola’s photographs: a script of light and matter, a gestural expression that creates a continuum in space and expands time
